Press leading efforts to open child abuse records

Press leading efforts to open child abuse records

A legal battle between Kentucky newspapers and the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services over access to child death records has created what Democratic Rep. Susan Westrom of Lexington called a "perfect storm" in a speech to a gathering of social workers at the state Capitol.

USA - Land of the Free (Press)? Those records could be gained under Freedom of Information and if that doesn't work, then subpoena them! The lawyers (for the parents) will have to get more backbone, don't roll over to the corrupt Courts, do the research and DEMAND the records, which must be provided for justice to occur. The Press traditionally is the mouthpiece for the people (before journalists became mere lackeys peddling propaganda for the government and bureaucracy) so it should go in to bat to open up the child abuse records. Anything less is Abuse of Process in the Court system
